Community Shredding & E-Cycling Day
THIS EVENT WILL TAKE PLACE RAIN OR SHINE
The City of Long Beach will hold a free Shredding and Electronics Recycling day on Saturday, April 26, 2025 from 9:00am – 1:00pm in front of City Hall. Cars should line up via Centre Street for both shredding and e-cycling. The event is for Long Beach residents only with proof of residency.
SHREDDING
Help protect yourself from identity theft! Residents are encouraged to bring personal documents to be destroyed on a mobile shredding truck. You may bring up to three file boxes per car of documents including old bank statements, tax returns, bills, receipts, credit card applications and outdated medical records to be safely shredded. Please be sure to remove all paperclips, staples and other bindings. Laminated documents, hardcover books and plastic sleeves will not be accepted. Materials will be accepted until the shredding truck reaches capacity. Please, no commercial shredding.
ELECTRONICS RECYCLING
With technology always changing, many electronic items become outdated after just a few years. Please don’t throw electronics out in your regular garbage. These items are all too toxic to place in the landfills. Dispose of them properly by bringing old unwanted electronics to our e-cycling day. Items include: Computers, Monitors, Mouse and Keyboards, Tablets, Printers, Faxes, Scanners, DVR and DVD players, Televisions, VCRs, any cable, cord, or wiring accompanying the electronic equipment. Please note this does not entail destroying data on devices. No cell phones or microwaves. For a complete list of acceptable items and more on e:cycling click here.
Please do not bring household hazardous materials to this event - you can bring them to the Long Beach Stop Throwing Out Pollutants (STOP) Program on Sunday, April 27 from 9am to 3pm in the same location.
