Our Recreation Campus features amenities such as a municipal pool, ice arena, turf fields, basketball courts, roller hockey rink, fishing pier, and a boat launch. With seven playgrounds scattered throughout the city, passive recreation is always within reach. Vendors Wanted for Arts & Crafts Boardwalk Fair

We are pleased to announce that the City of Long Beach Arts & Crafts Boardwalk Festival will take place on Saturday and Sunday, July 12 & 13, 2025 from 10am - 6pm.  We are currently accepting applications for vendors who would like to showcase their creative works and unique products.

Celebrating its nearly forty-year tradition, the festival will feature 200 vendors along our picturesque boardwalk, offering a variety of artistic and handcrafted items.  Whether you're an artist, craftsperson, or retailer, this is an incredible opportunity to showcase and sell your unique creations to thousands of residents and visitors. We will also take a limited amount of food vendors.

Easter Egg Hunt Set For April 12

Egg-stra, Egg-stra! Read all about it!!  The City of Long Beach Department of Parks and Recreation’s Annual Easter Egg Hunt will take place this year on Saturday, April 12, 2025  This event, presented by East End Volleyball is for Long Beach Residents and School District Residents only and requires in-person, advanced registration at the Long Beach Recreation Center lobby.  There will be NO day-of registration.  Register early as space is limited.  Registration will open on Friday, March 7, 2025. 

This hunt is for children 7 and under and includes a special needs category.

The hunt will take place on the Recreation fields located on Magnolia Boulevard and the bay next to the Long Beach Ice Arena. Prizes given in each hunt. Children will hunt for eggs in age group categories.  Click for details.

Presidents' Day

In observance of Presidents Day, City Hall and the Magnolia Center will be closed on Monday, February 17, 2025. The Recreation Center and Ice Arena will be open. LB Buses will run on a Holiday Schedule. There will be NO regular Residential Sanitation pickup.

Group Swim Lesson Registration

Group Swim Lesson Registration for Long Beach School District Residents begins on Tuesday, February 18, 2025. Registration for the general public opens on Tuesday, February 25, 2025. Classes are filled on a first come-first-serve basis. Click here for an application or more information.

Snowflake Race Winners

The City of Long Beach Department of Parks & Recreation Annual Snowflake 4-Mile Race was held this past Saturday! Under crisp, sunny skies, our community came together to celebrate fitness and fun. A huge congratulations to our top finishers: Timothy Miley, who crossed the finish line first among the men with a blazing time of 21:58, and Jacqueline Tierney of Massapequa, leading the women with an impressive 25:27.  A special thank you to our Police and Fire Departments for ensuring the safety of all our participants. Snowflake 4 Mile Race This Saturday

The Department of Parks and Recreation 2025 4-Mile Snowflake Race in memory of Joseph F. Farrell takes place this Saturday, February 1ss at 9:00am. The fee for the race is $35.00 for those who pre-register by January 20th at 4:00pm and the day of race registration fee is $45.00 from 7:00 – 8:30 a.m. at Long Beach Catholic Regional School in the gymnasium, located at 735 West Broadway, Long Beach. For additional information, please call 516-431-3890.
