Irish Day Parade & Festival

The Ancient Order of Hibernians Division 17 will hold the 35th Annual Irish Heritage Parade and Festival on  Saturday, October 5, 2024.  The parade steps off from Washington Boulevard and West Park Avenue at 11:00am and proceeds to Beech Street in the West End.  This year's Grand Marshal is the Michael Diamond Charitable Foundation.  The aides to the Grand Marshals are James Dowling, Jean Duffy, Robert Prince & Greg Schmalenberger. The festival includes music, street vendors and food trucks.

Working together with the Ancient Order of Hibernians, restaurant and bar owners, and the Long Beach Police Department to create a festive, yet safe environment, the City Council and City Manager would like to inform you of some important information pertaining the event:

  • The event will take place rain or shine.
  • There will be NO parking on West Beech Street, between New York Avenue and Connecticut Avenue from 6:00am and until 7:00pm on Saturday.
  • Cars not removed will be towed at the owner’s expense.
  • West Beech Street will close to traffic at 7:00am.
  • The parade steps off at 11:00am from Washington Boulevard and West Park Avenue.
  • The bandwagon will be stationed on Maryland Avenue and West Beech Street. 
  • Live entertainment on the bandwagon... 
    • 12pm - 3pm Lauren Craig & Co
    • 1:30pm Hagen School of Irish Dance
    • 3pm - 4:30pm John Doonan
    • Carnival Rides and Games are back!  Located in the Virginia Avenue Lot 12pm - 5pm.
  • The Festival will end at 5:00pm. Beech Street will be cleared and open by 7:00pm.
  • There will be FREE parking for event goers at the LIRR Parking Garage.
  • The West End Bus will run on West Park Avenue on a continuous loop during the festival.
  • Shuttle buses will be running all day between the LIRR Parking Garage and the festival.
  • All Eastbound City Buses will be FREE to passengers on Saturday only.
  • The planters on Oceanview will be moved for the day so that local traffic and emergency vehicles may flow through.
  • The Virginia Avenue parking lots will be closed Friday night through Saturday night.
  • The Maryland and Connecticut Avenue lots will be closed on Saturday.
  • Please report any problems to the Police Department, by calling 516- 431-1800.

As we all take part in this celebration of Irish heritage, we ask all residents and visitors to abide by the rules and act in a safe manner so everyone can enjoy the festivities.
