Electricians

 

The following must be included with your application:

  • New applicants must submit a completed notarized application with both vouchers on page 3 of application completed.  Renewing applicants must submit a completed notarized renewal application. 
  • Seven years of W-2 forms (New Applicants Only)
  • Photograph (2” x 2”) (New Applicants Only)
  • Town of Hempstead Certificate of Competency (otherwise test must be taken)
  • Copy of current liability insurance ($500,000).  The City of Long Beach must be listed as "Certificate Holder".
  • Copy of Certificate of Workers’ Compensation  Insurance (C-105.2 or U-26.3) or a Certificate of Attestation of Exemption (Form CE-200) and Compliance with the Disability Benefits Law.  ACORD forms are not acceptable.
  • Copies of all vehicle registrations used in your business.

 

Fees:

  • Initial application:  $530.00.  License will be for two years or part thereof, depending on date of issuance.
  • Test:  $30.00 for each test, payable in advance.
  • Renewal:  $400.00 – Two year license.
  • Late Fee: Renewals received after December 1st are subject to a $30.00 late fee.
  • Vehicle Decals: The first two decals are included in your application fee, each additional sticker is $12.00.
  • Make all checks payable to City Of Long Beach

 

Expiration: License expires November 30th of second year of license.

 

Please note:

  • All new applicants must appear in person before the electrical board for a preliminary examination.  The applicant will be notified by mail when to appear.
  • If you are licensed and tested in the Town of Hempstead, submit a copy of your license and Certificate of Competency from the Town of Hempstead.  You will be notified when to come in for an interview, but you will not be tested.
