CDBG Public Service Applications

The City is now solicitating applications from local non-profits for funding under the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) 52nd Program year. Please find the required application included below.

This competitive application is made available to local non-profits who seek grant funding for eligible CDBG public service activities. Eligible activities include, but are not limited to, programs that address: childcare, healthcare, job training, recreation programs, education programs, public safety, fair housing, substance abuse, mental health, youth services, senior services, and more.

Successful applicants will have their project included in the City’s CDBG funding request to Nassau County. Grant awards are anticipated to be in the range of $4,000 to $10,000 per project.

This is a competitive application and not all requests will make it to the next step to be included in the City’s CDBG request to Nassau County. Project competitiveness, City priorities, and CDBG funding levels will determine the number of projects that move forward and their funding amounts. All grant awards through this application are ultimately determined by Nassau County.

Who Should Apply?

Nonprofits: Only nonprofit organizations or religious entities are eligible to apply.  Nonprofits must be incorporated under state law, and they must have a 501(c)(3) or similar designation from the U.S. Internal Revenue Service.

Applications are due Sunday, March 1, 2026 at 11:59pm. Please email applications to thuffman@longbeachny.gov
