The City of Long Beach will officially light the Kennedy Plaza Christmas Tree on Friday, December 6, 2024. This festive occasion is not just about the tree itself; it is an opportunity to honor and celebrate extraordinary individuals who have made a significant impact in our community over the past year. We are looking for someone “great” to join City officials in lighting the tree. We want to know who has done great things for our community this year; whether it is a neighbor helping a neighbor, a teacher going the extra mile, someone serving in the military or just someone or a group that deserves the recognition, we want to hear about them.
All of the names submitted will be imprinted on ornaments to be placed on the Christmas Tree in Kennedy Plaza. The City Council will announce a nominee(s) to the crowd and together they will officially light the tree.
This is a great opportunity during the holiday season to honor those people who make a difference in our city.
Please complete the form below and submit it by Sunday, December 1, 2024.
Nominees must be a resident of the City of Long Beach.
A selection committee will determine the individual(s) who will light the tree from the pool on nominations. It is not based on the amount of nominations given.
