Racoon Rabies Control Program

Be advised, Nassau County Department of Health (DOH) is currently deploying raccoon rabies vaccine baits in our area. The baits are small brown cubes that contain a plastic pouch filled with the vaccine and are being dispersed in areas where raccoons may frequent. DOH reports these vaccines are not harmful to dogs and cats, but residents should avoid touching them if possible.
