Planning Board Members Appointed
On Tuesday night, the City Council passed a resolution (3-1) to appoint the members of the newly created Planning Board.
With this final step, the historic legislation which created the Planning Board is put into action.
The Planning Board’s creation is one of the more consequential pieces of legislation in our City’s history, a vital step forward for our community and its future.
“Our team is proud of the work that has been done to create the Planning Board” said City Council President Brendan Finn. "We now have the right legislation and the right people in place to ensure that we protect our City from overdevelopment. The newly created Planning Board is a huge win for our community and ensures that future projects fit the character of Long Beach and have a positive impact, which continues to be our pledge to residents.”

The Planning Board’s first meeting is anticipated to take place in March.
