Gardeners / Landscapers

The following must be submitted with your application:

 

  • A signed and notarized mercantile application.  Forms are available to download here.
  • Copy of Certificate of General Liability Insurance in the amount of $300,000.  The City of Long Beach is to be listed as the “Certificate Holder”.
  • Copy of Certificate of Workers’ Compensation  Insurance or a Certificate of Attestation of Exemption (Form CE-200) and Compliance with the Disability Benefits Law.
  • Copy of current Nassau County License issued by the Department of Consumer Affairs.
  • A list of five recent jobs which should include Name, Address, Type of Work Performed and Approximate Cost.
  • A Corporation or Partnership must include the names and address of all officers or partners.
  • A check or money order for $400.00 made payable to City of Long Beach.

 

Please Note:

  • All licenses are issued for a period of two years or part thereof.  All licenses expire on December 31 of the second license year.
  • Failure to include all necessary paperwork will result in rejection of your application.

Vehicle Decals:

 

Vehicle decals must be displayed on ALL vehicles used in conducting you business in the City of Long Beach.  The first two stickers are included in your renewal fee; each additional sticker is $12.00.  Please attach a copy of a valid registration for each vehicle

Applications where license fees are paid by check will be held seven (7) business days.

 

Applications where license fees are paid by Cash, Money Order or Credit Card will be processed within one business day. 

We accept Visa, MasterCard and Discover.  All credit card transactions must be done in person.
