Garage, Yard or Tag Sales

 

  • Application can be filled out / downloaded here.

 

  • Permits shall be issued for the same location no more than once within a six-month period.

 

  • No permit shall be issued for more than two consecutive dates.

 

  • Permit must be prominently displayed on the premises upon which the sale is conducted throughout the entire period of the sale.

 

  • No more than two (2) signs advertising such sale, each of which is no larger than twenty-four by twelve (24 x12) inches in size, shall be permitted.  All such signs must be posted on the premises where such sale is being conducted and must contain the name and address of the person conducting the sale.  Said signs must be removed within twenty-four (24) hours after the completion of the sale.

 

  • No signs or other advertisement of sale shall be attached to any pole or other object in any public place other than then premises where the sale is to be held.

 

  • In the event that any advertisement of such sale shall be posted in any public place in violation of the foregoing paragraphs it shall be presumed that the owner of the premises where the sale is to be held or his designated agent caused such advertisement to be so posted.

 

  • The person to whom such permit is issued and the owner or tenant of the premised on which such sale or activity is conducted shall be jointly and severally responsible for the maintenance of good order and decorum on the premises during all hours of such sale or activity.  No such person shall permit any loud or boisterous language or conduct on said premises nor permit vehicles to impede the passage of traffic on any roads or streets in the area of such premises.  All such persons shall obey the reasonable orders of any member of the Police Department or Fire Department of the City in order to maintain the public health, safety and welfare.

 

  • Any person who shall violate any of the provisions of this article shall be subject, for a first offense, to a fine of not more than one hundred dollars ($100.00) or by imprisonment not exceeding fifteen (15) days, or both such fine and imprisonment, for each day such violation shall occur, continue or exist.

 

  • Any person who shall violate any of the provisions of this article after having been previously convicted of violating any provision of this article shall be subject to a fine of not more than two hundred fifty dollars ($250.00) or by imprisonment not exceeding thirty (30) days, or both such fine and imprisonment, for each day such subsequent violation shall occur, continue or exist.
