The City of Long Beach values our local business community and is committed to assisting and helping expand local business, help startups and attract new ones. This page is dedicated to that mission.

With our wonderful beaches and a 2.25 mile iconic boardwalk, many businesses provide services to visitors and residents alike.  These services are supported by information provided in local directories, on LongBeachLife.com and through the City’s Long Beach Response app.  Having three distinct downtowns, there are many retail options for all, supported by the LIRR branch, County and City bus services, and rental bicycles.

The Department of Economic Development and Planning, created after Superstorm Sandy through grant funding to assist our local businesses during a very critical period after the storm, is your resource for individual assistance. The City also has an independent Local Development Corporation and works closely with the Long Beach Chamber of Commerce and other agencies to provide business benefits. If you have any questions, email economicdevelopment@longbeachny.gov or call (516) 705-7284.
