Kids Bike Safety Rodeo
On A Specially Designed Bike Rodeo Course!
The Long Beach Police Department with the Kiwanis Club of Long Beach NY and Legislator Patrick Mullaney will host a Kids Bike Safety Rodeo on Saturday, May 10, 2025. The event will take place at the Recreation Campus parking lot at 700 Magnolia Boulevard from 10:00am - 1:00pm. This event is for children ages 4 to 12. There will be two sessions: 10:00AM - 11:30AM and 11:30AM - 1:00PM. Please choose one time.
Space is limited. First-come, first-served. Children should be able to ride their bike without assistance. Training wheels permitted.
Bike rodeos teach children various bike safety skills by using simulated real-life situations. Children will be taught the fundamentals of bicycle safety and learn skills that will improve their cycling abilities in a fun safe environment.
Children will have their bicycles and helmets inspected and fitted, then ride through a skills course. All children will receive bicycle safety information and a certificate of completion.
In order to participate, you must come with a bicycle and bring your helmet. If you do not have a helmet, one will be provided while supplies last.
We are limited in the number of children we can serve. Please pre-register by clicking here or by filling out the form below and returning it to the Recreation Center by Friday, May 9, 2025.
In addition to the rodeo, there will be other fun activities, including tattoos, helmet decorating and bike raffles.
Please note: This is not a drop-off event. A parent or guardian must be present. Participants should bring their bicycles and helmets. Helmets will be provided to those without while supplies last.
